Nassau drugstore robbery suspect found dead in Brunswick

A Fernandina Beach man suspected of robbing a Fernandina Beach drugstore of narcotic prescription drugs April 4 was found dead with his wife in a Brunswick, Ga., hotel room Wednesday.

The Fernandina Beach Police Department reported that both were apparent suicide victims.

The Glynn County Police Department reported Wednesday that officers found Ronald Flannery, 51, and his his 52-year-old wife dead in their Econolodge room about 11:30 a.m. The pair will be autopsied at the GBI Crime Lab in Savannah.



Drug store robbery caught on camera

A man who claimed to have a gun robbed a Fernandina Beach drug store of prescription narcotics Friday night.

The suspect gave a pharmacist at the CVS Pharmacy on Sadler Road a note demanding the drugs Methadone, Loritab, and Xanax at about 8:30 p.m. The note told the pharmacist not to panic.

The pharmacist gave the man several bottles of the narcotics and he left through the store’s front door.



Breaking news -- Information sought on early morning robbery

A robber put a choke hold on a clerk at the Florida Citrus Center on Florida A1A and threatened her with a "bat like" object during an early morning robbery today.

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office reports the clerk was uninjured, but the robber fled with an unknown amount of money.

Deputies responded to the store just off Interstate 95 at 6:20 a.m.

According to a Sheriff's Office press release, the clerk had been counting out the starting till when the suspect put his arm around her neck and dragged her from the chair she was sitting in, pushing her to the floor. He then threatened her with the "bat like" object, telling her not to move before grabbing the money and running out the back door.
